Lake Como 7-Day Itinerary
Villa base, garden days, boat day and one big trip beyond the lake.
Seven nights on Lake Como is enough to see the lake properly, take one day-trip beyond it, and still spend three full days doing nothing but swimming, eating and reading on the terrace. Here is the rhythm we recommend.
Day 1 — Arrival
Land Milan Malpensa, private transfer to villa (1.5h to Bellagio via car ferry). Pool, lakeside aperitivo, early dinner at a local trattoria.
Day 2 — Garden day (Carlotta + Melzi)
Ferry to Tremezzo for Villa Carlotta opening (9am), lunch in Tremezzo, afternoon ferry to Bellagio for Villa Melzi. Walk Bellagio's old town, sunset aperitivo.
Day 3 — Private boat day
Half-day Riva or full-day cruiser. Route: lake triangle with lunch at a water-access-only restaurant (Crotto dei Platani or La Tirlindana). Swim stops as you wish.
Day 4 — Slow lake day
Pool, lake swim, long lunch at the villa or nearby trattoria. Optional: short Greenway walk in the afternoon.
Day 5 — Day trip
Choose one: Milan for art and shopping; Bergamo for the medieval old town; Lugano for Swiss elegance. Private driver recommended.
Day 6 — Sunset cruise + farewell dinner
Lazy morning, late lunch. 2-hour sunset cruise on a Riva starting 90 minutes before sundown. Farewell dinner at Mistral (Grand Hotel Tremezzo) or La Punta (Bellagio).
Day 7 — Departure morning
Lake swim, late breakfast, private transfer to airport. Late flights only — most travellers fly mid-afternoon.
