Tuscany Packing List
Cypress shadows, restaurant dinners and pool afternoons.
Tuscany is more dressed-up than people expect — country casual at the villa, sharper than that in Florence and Siena restaurants. Pack for the evenings, not just the days.
Wardrobe by setting
Villa days: linen, cotton, swimwear, espadrilles. Florence dinners: light jacket or smart dress, leather shoes — sneakers and shorts feel out of place in good restaurants. Vineyards: closed-toe shoes (gravel, vine roots), light layers (cellars are cold).
Footwear
Two pairs of comfortable walking shoes (cobblestones), one pair of swim/pool shoes, one pair of dress shoes for dinners. Skip heels — every Tuscan town is cobbled.
What to leave at home
Hair dryer (every villa has one), beach towels (every villa has them), heavy guidebooks (we send a digital itinerary), umbrellas (any tabacchi sells one for €5), formal black-tie (almost never required outside specific weddings).
At a glance
- •Dinner attire: smart casual, leather shoes, no shorts
- •Cobblestone-friendly walking shoes (no heels)
- •Light layers — vineyard cellars stay 15°C year-round
- •Swim, pool towels, hair dryer: provided by the villa
- •Sunscreen + hat: April–October sun is strong
